Christians have their own publishing houses, record producers, stores, and magazines. I've decided to pursue publication in CBA because I desire to see the Church claim (reclaim) their position as ... Continue

The Places You'll Go

I'm pilfering this question from TWV2. What has your art and the process of creating taught you about God and yourself? When I started on the writer's journey, I had no idea what I was in for. Even... Continue

Okay, so who's into music? I have to admit, as far as discovering new artists, I depend a lot on friends. There's a blog I've discovered that highlights new music every Monday, which means the work... Continue

Show Time Again!?!

My kids were going to take a break and I wasn't pushing them to audition even though I thought the Jungle Book would be a great play for them. Actually, I was relieved they weren't auditioning. I knew if they made it practices would be M/T/Thurs. from 7 - 9 pm. And we still have three weeks of school left. Then we got a call from the director encouraging them to audition. I have to admit, I got more excited then they did. My oldest (13) still said he wanted to take a break but really liked work… Continue

Music Man Opening Night!

I haven't written much on my blog about my son's roles in the Music Man because I really don't know much about what's going on. What I do know is that I'm truly proud of my little "Winthrop" and my "Quartet singer." Because of their experience (and talent) they are doing exceptional and getting all kinds of compliments, but they are nervous because they don't think this school production is ready. They are used to having run through the show dozens of times before opening night. That's not the c… Continue

Poem: Onto Dry Grass

Day to day betrayed by insecurities, Day to day allowing the demise of courage, Day to day disappearing within scars. Not knowing what should be. Yet feet become engaged by what Faulty experience has described as exposure. Day to day questioning compromises, Being everything to everyone, Avoiding the composite of what one should become. Day to day forgetting backbone, Disclaiming the soul And misplacing my Creator. Day to day lost in a scream, Outraged and overdrawn Between blank words. Day… Continue

Poem: Semi-Untitled (Just Then - proposed title)

Too broken to move on Blinded between feasts of tears. Standing on altars, Unwillingly waving goodbye to my home. Paralyzed by hurtful words, Whispered at my ear, so long ago. Nothing seems recapture-able as years disperse Like waves crashing on hollowed rocks. Receiving small contacts of context, Revolutionizing my crestfallen heart. Yet pained anger holds on to me… Like tiny ropes of molten iron, clot. Laments glued on my skin, Suffocating my soul. Revoltingly keeping me at a distance From… Continue
